Nothing says “fancy” to me like the flavor of almonds and cherries. There’s just something about the way the two come together. The sweet tartness of the cherries and the delicate almond flavor make something truly special.
And I love to combine the two in a smoothie for something a little extra special without any extra fuss.
The cherries make it just sweet enough, while the almond butter brings a creamy richness. A little almond extract gives the flavor a punch.
With the cherries, greens, and almond butter, this Cherry-Almond Smoothie is packed with healthy fat, protein, vitamins/minerals, a variety of phytonutrients, and antioxidants.
Smoothie-Making Tips and Tricks
How to Improvise a Smoothie
I love a good smoothie recipe, but it’s helpful to be able to improvise and create your own, too. If you’re new to making smoothies with greens in them, a 40:60 ratio of greens to fruit is a good starting place. You can gradually shift the ratio to favor the greens as your taste develops, if you want to.
Additional Tips
You can make a smoothie that’s smooth and creamy without a fancy high-powered blender. Read my tips for making a great smoothie with a budget blender.
